Internship "Science & Communication"
The Munich Center for Mathematical Philosophy (MCMP) is one hub in a connected community. Its members do research exchanging thoughts, ideas, and results through various communication channels, through different media formats, and through the organization of events. In connecting research and teaching the MCMP encourages careers in Philosophy and Science from an early stage on. The newly established MCMP internship program "Science & Communication" brings together form and content by emphasizing the importance of key skills in academic management at the intersection of administration, science communication, research marketing, and media production as well as event organization.
The internship focuses on the following questions:
- How can science communication in Philosophy be understood? What do we need it for? What are the trends? Which technologies are important, what infrastructure do we need, what training is required?
- How can team exchange be shaped internally? How is innovation communicated externally?
- What are the audiences? How do we reach them?
- How can the MCMP make use of LMU's infrastructure? What tools and formats can we implement and improve to support scientific exchange and communication? (LMUcast, iTunes U, MOOCs, First Sight video abstracts, interactive formats, etc.)
If you are a student of Philosophy or Communication Studies (or neighboring fields), if you speak German, and if you are interested in coming to Munich as an intern for 6 to 8 weeks, please send an email including a letter of motivation and your CV to Roland Poellinger (email@example.com).
