Dutch-Booking Indicative Conditionals
Abstract:
In his 2004 article (section 7), Stephan Kaufmann argues that there are dutch book scenarios in which imaging, rather than conditionalization, should guide betting prices. What is the true dialectical force of Kaufmann's cases? And how do they bear on Goldstein & Santorio (forthcoming)'s argument that a form of imaging, not always equivalent to conditionalization, is the rational way to update our beliefs?
