Hannes Leitgeb will receive the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize 2025

With the award of the prestigious Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize, the DFG is recognizing Hannes Leitgeb's outstanding research in the field of mathematical-analytical philosophy, whose tradition he has “illuminated with important historical studies, expanded with the help of creative ideas and applied to numerous phenomena from philosophy and the cognitive and linguistic sciences”.
The Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize of the German Research Foundation is considered the most important award in German science. This year, ten scientists will receive it. The prize money of 2.5 million Euros can be used by the recipients for up to seven years for their scientific work. The Leibniz Prizes will be awarded at a ceremony in Berlin on March 19, 2025.
