Further Information
I obtained my Master’s degree (Magister Artium) in Philosophy from LMU, Munich. My Master’s thesis deals with the cognitive value and significance of metaphors in scientific language. Currently, I am working on my PhD-project under the supervision of Prof. DDr. Hannes Leitgeb concerning the incorporation of abductive reasoning into the Logic of Belief Revision. My PhD-project is funded by the German Academic Scholarship Foundation (Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes).
Research Interests
My main research interests are belief dynamics, scientific reasoning and the concepts of causation, explanation and explanatory power. The aim of my PhD-project is to develop a framework of belief dynamics that incorporates abductive reasoning (Inference to the Best Explanation). While the idea of abductive reasoning will be used to create a more realistic and more rational characterization of belief dynamics, the project also aims to contribute to a better understanding of abductive reasoning itself.
