I am a doctoral fellow at the MCMP under the supervision of Hannes Leitgeb. Before my doctoral studies, I did a Masters in Logic and Philosophy of Science at the MCMP, worked commercially as a software developer in Germany and the UK, and did a Bachelors in Applied Computer Science and Philosophy in Cologne. .
Most generally, I am interested in understanding cognition within Philosophy and Artificial Intelligence. I have additional strong interests in Logic, (Formal) Epistemology, Philosophy of Science, Philosophy of Mind, Philosophy of Language and the History of Analytic Philosophy.
In my dissertation, I work on rationally reconstructing learning algorithms in artificial neural networks with the help of logical methods. The goal is to improve the transparency of opaque machine learning processes.
