Munich Center for Mathematical Philosophy (MCMP)

Welcome to the Munich Center for Mathematical Philosophy (MCMP)! The MCMP is devoted to the applications of logical and mathematical methods to all kinds of philosophical problems ranging from epistemology and philosophy of science to metaphysics, the philosophy of language, ethics, and political philosophy. It is integrated in LMU's Faculty of Philosophy, Philosophy of Science and Study of Religion, which is the largest philosophy department in Germany. The faculty has a great history in logic and philosophy of science, as the internationally renowned schools of Kurt Schütte (mathematical logic) and Wolfgang Stegmüller (philosophical logic, philosophy of science) demonstrate.

The MCMP organizes a large number of academic events, including weekly colloquia, workshops, and conferences. For details, visit our calendar.

The MCMP is generously supported by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation through two Alexander von Humboldt Professorships.
