JOBS: Three Assistant Professorships in Logic and Philosophy of Language

Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich is seeking applications for

Three Assistant Professorships in Logic and Philosophy of Language
(for three years with the possibility of extension)

at the Chair of Logic and Philosophy of Language (Professor Hannes Leitgeb) and the Munich Center for Mathematical Philosophy (MCMP) at the Faculty of Philosophy, Philosophy of Science and Study of Religion. The positions, which are to start from October 1st 2015, are for three years with the possibility of extension.

Each appointee will be expected (i) to do philosophical research, especially in philosophical logic and related areas (such as philosophy of logic, philosophy of language, philosophy of mathematics, formal epistemology), (ii) to teach five hours a week in corresponding areas, and (iii) to participate in the organisation of the MCMP.

Each successful candidate will have a PhD in philosophy or logic, and teaching experience in philosophy and/or logic.

Women are currently underrepresented in the Faculty, therefore we particularly welcome applications for this post from suitably qualified female candidates. Furthermore, given equal qualification, severely physically challenged individuals will be preferred.
