MCMP collaborates with Yau Mathematical Sciences Center

18.04.2018

The MCMP is engaged in an ongoing official collaboration with the Yau Mathematical Sciences Center at the Tsinghua University in Beijing, the premier university in China. The eminent mathematician and mathematical physicist Shing-Tung Yau, head of the Center at Tsinghua named in his honor and professor at Harvard University, invited Dr. Erik Curiel to co-organize a yearly conference with him at the Tsinghua Sanya International Mathematics Forum, a part of the Yau Mathematical Sciences Center. The conferences will be organized in collaboration with the Institute for Advanced Study at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology as well. Every year, the conference will focus on a different area in general relativity, cosmology, and quantum gravity, bringing together 25-30 leading researchers invited from all over the world to deliver talks and to engage in more informal seminars and discussions with the conference's other participants. The first conference, on quantum gravity and holography, will be held in January 2019.
