Milena Ivanova received an award from the British Society for Aesthetics. Congratulations Milena!
The award will be towards the organisation of a conference on Aesthetics of Science to be held at the University of Leeds in July 2017, coorganised with Professor Steven French.
The conference aims to start a productive collaboration between aesthetics and philosophy of science. Expertise in aesthetics can illuminate contemporary debates in philosophy of science by sharpening the notion of beauty, aesthetic property, scientists’ aesthetic sensibility, and this collaboration can help us in understanding why beauty continues to feature in scientific reasoning and drive scientific research. The conference will facilitate the productive discussion with current research in aesthetics and facilitate the interchange of ideas between the two fields.
