Soroush Rafiee Rad obtained his PhD in Mathematical Logic at the University of Manchester in 2009 with a thesis on inductive logic and probabilistic reasoning and finished a PhD in Philosophy at TiLPS in 2014. In 2012 and 2013 he has been a visiting researcher at the London School of Economics, CUNY Graduate Centre, the University of Amsterdam and the University of Kent and in 2013-2014 he was a visiting postdoctoral researcher at MCMP. Since September 2014, he has assumed a postdoctoral position at the Institute for Logic, Language and Computation at the University of Amsterdam under the direction of Dr. Sonja Smets.

Research Interests

Soroush Rafiee Rad’s research interests are in Mathematical Logic and Formal Philosophy, in particular, inductive logic, quantum logic and formal epistemology. He works on probabilistic logics, quantum logic and problems in Bayesian models of collective decision making.
