Thomas studied Philosophy at the University of Zacatecas (UAZ), in Mexico, and Philosophy and Linguistics at the LMU Munich. From September 2011 to January 2015, he was a Doctoral Fellow at the Munich Center for Mathematical Philosophy (MCMP Munich). Thomas wrote his PhD thesis under the supervision of Ulises Moulines, Hannes Leitgeb, Dietmar Zaefferer and Otávio Bueno, with the title "Theory Change and Structural Realism in Linguistics", which he defended successfully with honors (summa cum laude) on January 23rd, 2015. His doctoral dissertation received the grade magna cum laude.

In 2013, Thomas was a Visiting Fellow at the University of Miami, where he worked with Otávio Bueno on Structural Realism, Carnap and Scientific Realism. Together, they published the Paper “Structuralism, Empiricism, And Newman’s Objection” at the Journal Principia:

Thomas’ new book Contra Stultitiam has been accepted for publication and will be published in 2023. In this work, he makes the case for the “Wissenschaftliche Weltauffassung” and defends it against conspiracy theories and pseudoscience.
