Further Information

I am a doctoral fellow at the MCMP under the supervision of Prof. Christian List, and Prof.
Johanna Thoma (Bayreuth) as an external second supervisor. I received my B.A. degree in
philosophy, computer science and economics at the University of Bern in 2020 and
completed the M.A. program in Logic and Philosophy of Science at the MCMP in 2022.
Beyond that, I am interested in ethics and policy research, e.g. working as a Research
Fellow for the Solon Center for Policy Innovation from 2020 to 2023.

Research Interests

Generally, my core interests are in formal practical philosophy, including decision theory,
rationality theory, game theory and social choice theory. My PhD project explores well-being
and prudential goodness and how they relate to what we have rational reason to do. In
particular, I explore how individuals can be understood as intrapersonal collectives, both
synchronically in terms of collectives of (conflicting) internal desires and diachronically in
terms of collectives of distinct person-stages over time. To this end I employ various tools
from standardly interpersonal domains, such as social choice theory or population ethics, to
understand the intrapersonal domain.
I am also interested in the philosophy of suffering, metaethics (especially subjectivism and
pluralism), political philosophy and social epistemology.
