Walter Dean is Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Warwick. He received a PhD in computer science from the CUNY Graduate Center in 2010, a PhD in philosophy from Rutgers University in 2007, and an MSc in logic from the University of Amsterdam in 1999.
Research Interests
Walter Dean works in philosophy of mathematics and mathematical and philosophical logic. He also has interests in theoretical computer science and the history and philosophy of computation. He is currently working on the relationship of results in Reverse Mathematics and computational complexity theory to questions of mathematical applicability. He additionally has historical interests in the work of Hilbert, Bernays, Gödel, and Kreisel.
