Further Information

Nora is Professor of Philosophy at Heidelberg University and a member of the Faculties of Philosophy and Engineering Sciences. Before joining Heidelberg, Nora was a junior researcher in Philosophy at the Universities of Erlangen-Nuremberg and Munich (LMU). She has PhD and B.phil. (Master's) degrees in Philosophy from the Universities of Cambridge and Oxford, respectively, and an M.phil. degree in Philosophy, Logic, and Philosophy of Science from LMU. Her long-standing interdisciplinary experience includes, inter alia, research projects in ethics of genetic technology, digitisation, and vaccination in collaboration with the German Cancer Research Center and in neurophilosophy and cognitive science at the Center for Neuroeconomics of the University of Zurich.

Research Interests

Nora Heinzelmann's research interests are in philosophy of mind and action (topic of all her theses), moral philosophy (particularly applied and normative ethics and moral psychology), epistemology (especially social epistemology), and philosophy of science (in particular philosophy of psychology, neuroscience, cognitive science, and economics). Her historical interests are in Early Modern Philosophy, especially David Hume.
