Further Information

Nora Heinzelmann studied philosophy and biology in Heidelberg, Munich, and Montreal and received her M.phil. from Ludwig Maximilian University (LMU). She also has a B.Phil. (Master's) and a PhD in Philosophy from Oxford and Cambridge, respectively. Since a research placement in Neuroeconomics at the University of Zurich in 2011, she has been collaborating with psychologists, cognitive scientists and neuroscientists. She has been an assistant professor at LMU since 2017, when she also received a grant from the Federal Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF) for a research project in bioethics and social epistemology.

Research Interests

Nora Heinzelmann's research interests are in philosophy of mind and action (topic of all her theses), moral philosophy (particularly applied and normative ethics and moral psychology), epistemology (especially social epistemology), and philosophy of science (in particular philosophy of psychology, neuroscience, cognitive science, and economics). Her historical interests are in Early Modern Philosophy, especially David Hume.
