Gábor Hofer-Szabó is a senior research fellow and deputy head at the Institute of Philosophy in the Research Centre for the Humanities, Budapest. He will spend the 2021/22 academic year at the MCMP as a Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel Research Award Winner of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.

Research Interests

Gábor's main research area is foundations of quantum theory and probabilistic causality. During his stay at MCMP, he will work on several projects, including noncommutative causality, a new approach to causation based on dynamical systems, emergence of macrostates in statistical physics, and investigation of contextuality in the physical, social, and psychological sciences.
